Life is short don't make it shorter.
One fine day in Pune when I went to a hill with my friends for a sigh seeing and was strolling down the hill, I found this signboard with this striking words. So got it captured with my cell phone. I assume that it was meant for the people on wheels. It was a great feeling to know that there are others who care for our safety too and want us to be cautious while driving. Well thanks to them, whoever they are for this thoughtful and rather touchy words.
Coming to Nagaland if we travel from Kohima to Dimapur we will get a chance to see lots of signboards with thoughtful and precautionary words written and placed at good number of points by the Broader Road Organization (BRO). Some of which I remember are :
Drive Slow
Ply don't Fly
Better Late Than Never
Safety First Speed Next
Drink or Drive, etc.
And why not for the road are dangerously narrow coupled with sharp turns and slippery periphery.
The rationale for signboards is not only to give direction but also to keep us safe. Hence, signboards are normally placed strategically. For instances, in front of sharp turns, river crossing, steep down slopes etc. where more precautions are needed.
Sometimes it is quite scary to travel by taxis as the drivers would normally drive like one of those F1 race cars on these dangerous roads much without paying attentions to the signboards. And less of us would advise the driver to slow down too. So our safety is most of the times left to our fate which is in God's hand. But since God is not going to help unless we do our part therefore lets not take safety instructions for granted but obey and be safe.
Drive safely and be safe ! :)

Interesting.
