I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! 2 Corinthians 5:21

“I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus!” Say this under your breath in times of temptation and sin for though we are not righteous and perfect ourselves but God is and He has already paid for our sins in full once and for all- sins of the past, present and future. So, all He wants now is to let us enjoy the fullness of Christ because the blood of Christ has already washed us and made us perfect in His eyes just like a child is always perfect in the eyes of his father in spite of his iniquities.
It is not to say that God is taking sin lightly. God hates sin but loves sinners unconditionally so He had to give His only begotten son as the perfect sacrifice. So when He has already done our part of bearing the stripes, shame and ultimately dead for us why would we want to redo or even think to do it ourselves instead of appreciating it.

For instance a child meets an accident and damages other’s property. Since his father knows that he is a kid and has no money to pay the fine. So He pays for him in full and leaves nothing for his kid to pay now or in the future. To that, what if the kid says, “Dad you don’t need to do this for me; I’ll pay myself (though he knows he can’t).” Should the father not feel insulted or even get angry? Instead if the kid could at least sincerely say “I am sorry” and “thank you” that would make his father feel better and make him feel for his kid even more inspite of the mistake. He will still do the same for the kid’s future mistakes because his love is not conditioned by his son’s mistakes. Now that the father has paid the fine for him, he will no longer remain indebted/be at fault to the person whose property was damaged. For his fault/wrong has already been made right by this father. His father would expect his son to get over his mistake and live no longer in guilt but be happy and live his life to the fullest.  In the same way our faults/sins have already been forgiven at the cross and God has not left anything for us to pay now or in the future that we may get over our sins and be united with Him in spirit to enjoy the fullness of Christ- being perfect, being complete, being joyful, being peaceful, being holy, being righteous, being trustworthy, being loved and being saved.
For all who have GRACE (JESUS CHRIST), sin no longer enslaves or condemns us for we are already made righteous and are saved from sins and have the gift of God which is eternal life. So it is so right to say “I AM THE RIGHTEOUNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS”. Amen!
